Ithaca College congratulates students named to Dean's List for the spring 2014 semester.

Students were recently recognized for their outstanding achievement at SUNY Canton during the spring 2014 semester. To receive Dean's List honors, full-time students must earn at least a 3.25 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

More than 900 accepted students have indicated their commitment to attend SUNY Potsdam by submitting deposits. The group of incoming first-year students hail from across New York State and beyond. The Class of 2018 will begin classes on Sept. 1.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 861 students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Spring 2014 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by Interim President Dr. Dennis L. Hefner.

The SUNY New Paltz School of Business recently held its Awards & Graduation Ceremony, where students were inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, Faculty & Staff Awards were presented, as were Student Academic and Service Awards.

The State University of New York at New Paltz has announced its Dean's List for the spring 2014 semester. Dean's List designation is reserved for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

More than 1200 students at Hudson Valley Community College were recently named to the college's Deans' List. Students named to the Dean's List have have a term grade point average between 3.0 to 3.49.

More than 1,600 students have made the Spring 2014 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University.

Nearly 200 SUNY Oneonta students presented original research and creative projects at the college's annual Student Research and Creative Activity Day on March 26.

The SUNY New Paltz chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) was awarded Silver Chapter status at the 36th International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans, La.

Thirteen SUNY Oneonta students presented papers at the college's fifth annual New Critics: Undergraduate Literature and Composition Conference on April 19. A total of 21 students from colleges throughout New York state and as far away as Los Angeles were selected to present papers at the conference, which featured a keynote address by PEN/Jerard Award-winning creative nonfiction writer Colette Brooks.

More than 200 SUNY Potsdam students completed one or more internship placements at companies, non-profits or campus departments in the Spring 2014 semester. SUNY Potsdam's internship program places students with employers whose interests align with their studies. Each student has a faculty sponsor, and earns between 1 and 12 credits toward their degree requirements for successfully completing the internship.

Coastal Carolina University has announced that some 525 students have made the President's honor list for the Fall Semester 2013.

The University of Scranton has announced it's Dean's List, which recognizes students for academic excellence during the 2013 fall semester. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours to make the Dean's List. The list includes students from the Jesuit university's College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, the Panuska College of Professional Studies and the College of Graduate and Continuing Education. More than 1,380 students were named to the 2013 fall semester Dean's List, including the following area residents.

The School of Business at the State University of New York at New Paltz inducted 32 members into the New Paltz chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma on Friday, Dec. 6 at Studley Theatre on the New Paltz campus. President Donald P. Christian was inducted as Chapter Honoree. Following the induction ceremony, graduating students were honored with awards for academic excellence and outstanding service. In order to be nominated for membership in the Honor Society, students of junior or senior standing must be in the top 10% of their class and have a weighted GPA of at least 3.64, and master's students must be in the top 20% of their class and have a GPA of at least 3.8. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a student can receive in a business program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. Several local students were recently named to the President's List at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY for the Fall 2013 academic term. Each fall and spring term, the college's President's List honors those students who have a term grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0. Local students include:

St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, welcomes the following students as members of the class of 2017. Each first-year student participates in St. Lawrence University's innovative First-Year Program - one of the oldest living-learning programs in the country - helping students make successful transitions from high school to college. Students live together and are taught by faculty teams, developing the writing, speaking, and research skills needed for college. Students continue to develop these skills in a spring First-Year Seminar.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has named 43 new Edgar Fellows for the current academic year. The college's Honors Program is named after the program's founder, William Edgar, distinguished teaching professor emeritus of philosophy. Students must exhibit a high level of motivation and academic accomplishment to be admitted to the program, which entails honors courses, research opportunities and close work with honors advisers.
